Karen L. May is the Managing Member of Karen L. May, LLC. Ms. May is a Certified Forensic Financial Analyst and Fraud Examiner. She has more than 20 years of relevant analytical experience pertaining to forensic and litigation support services. Ms. May has served as an expert witness or litigation consultant in a number of matters, including breach of contracts, breach of trust and fiduciary duties, embezzlement, asset forfeiture, money laundering, economic damages, misappropriation of funds by personal representative of estates, shareholder disputes, business loss and fire loss insurance claims, reconstruction of accounting records, tracing of marital and non-marital assets, discovery of hidden assets, tax evasion, income determination for alimony and child support purposes, employee payroll fraud, discovery assistance, deposition assistance, cross-examination assistance and other litigation support services. She has been qualified as an expert witness in forensic accounting, damages, and other accounting matters in both Federal and state courts in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Ms. May has also been a court-appointed expert in Federal and state courts in Maryland, District of Columbia, and West Virginia and has been designated as a mutually agreed upon expert for both the Plaintiff and the Defendant in a number of matters.

Ms. May has also been trained as a Financial Specialist in Collaborative Practice and as a Mediator in Civil and Domestic Practice. She brings a broad professional and educational background to her work in the Collaborative Practice area and Mediation. She has been actively involved as a Financial Neutral in numerous collaborative cases in the State of Maryland.

She has made several presentations to the Maryland State Bar, local bar associations, government branches and various other organizations regarding Forensic Accounting and The Role of the Financial Neutral in Collaborative Practice.
